On the 6th of February, 30 a group interesting and generous people gathered in the lobby of my apartment for a fundraising soirée. Guests included lawyers, Professors, PhD students, fundraisers, and some of the best people I know. The guys wore suits and ties, while the ladies (for the most part) donned their dresses and heels for the occasion. Hors d’ouvres included charcuterie plates (courtesy of my roomate Ben), and homemade guacamole (courtesy of my friend Ivonne) and homemade bruschetta (courtesy of me, your humble narrator). We also had drinks and an ample serving of Frank Sinatra music to boot. My friend Ty Littau even treated guests to a masterful live auction for the cause!

That evening, we raised just over $700 from those present. Thanks to a generous matching offer from my uncle Mike and an anonmyous donor, all of those donations were matched, for a total of over $1400. I have since received another $365 from people who could not make it, all of which will be matched. This puts us at $2100 raised from this fundraiser alone! This puts us just $4900 away from what we need to send the tractor by May 1st.

I would like to thank Beatrice, Hassan, and Ben Williams for serving drinks, Ben Ruggeberg and Ivonne for their help in preparation, Ty for his auctioneering skills, and everyone else for their attendance and support. Most of our group is pictured below.
