Our tractor is about to arrive at the farmers’ doorstep in Burkina Faso, and so are we! Louis and I will be making our way there on June 19th. Louis will stay for one week, and I will stay for two months. Our goals while there will be four.
- Re-assemble farm equipment and train the farmers in its proper and safe use
- Train the farmers in proper maintenance
- Construct a small shed to protect the equipment from the sun and rain to ensure its longevity
- Research future project ideas to further develop agriculture in the region.
Louis and I are excited spend more time with this community of farmers and to measure the effect of the equipment we are providing. It is our hope that they will be able to produce more food for their communities, more income or their families, and a better life for all involved.
